New Appointments support TAS Expansion
27/02/06
Two board level appointments have been made by TAS to help support continuing expansion in several areas of the business.
Brian Cox, who has 38 years experience in UK bus and rail operations, has been appointed a Non Executive Director. Brian is believed to be one of the few people who have worked in both the bus and rail sectors under both public and private ownership, as well as having worked for two local authorities. He retired from full-time employment in 2002 after 10 years as an executive Director of Stagecoach Group plc, where his final role was to head up the UK Bus Division.
Brian said "It appeals to me strongly to be involved in a business that is close to the heart of UK transport policy development and I particularly admire TAS for its hands-on practical approach leading to improvements on the ground."
Paul Turner has been appointed Associate Director after working with TAS for six years, latterly as a Principal Consultant in charge of a planning team. Paul becomes one of seven board members and has specific responsibilities relating to future expansion of the business.
TAS Chairman Peter Huntley explained "We are continually challenging the boundaries of our areas of work and the demands on the team mean that our efforts and expertise are constantly stretched. These new appointments allow us to have the benefits of Brian's unrivalled experience and Paul's abilities to ensure we continue to match our client's expectations. We will be unveiling some major new initiatives in 2006 and look forward to continuing to engage with everyone with an interest in a successful future for public transport".
