Skills Required
The most important attribute that an applicant to The TAS Partnership Ltd can possess is a good brain and the ability to use it. Recruitment to our consultancy staff comes from two broad streams:
- New graduates from a range of disciplines, including those whom we have previously employed during the placement year of their four year Transport and Logistics degree. In addition, we have, in the past three years, recruited graduates in economics, electronic engineering and geography. They are recruited as Technical Assistants, become involved in a variety of projects, and are given regular training, including placement and secondment in the industry, with a view to their becoming Consultants within three years. We have an established track record of supporting staff training and personal development and achieved IIP registration in August 2004.
- Experienced professionals, who have decided to change direction. They will have had a solid career – usually, but not always, in public transport. They bring with them a breadth of practical experience from the “real world” and our team structure ensures the necessary close supervision to allow them to make the transition to consultancy in the most effective way.
The breadth of our skills base, and the inclusion within it of subjects in addition to Transport Planning and Management, such as Economics, enhances our proven ability to tackle work across the entire public transport spectrum.
