Board Appointment for TAS
08 January 2007
Specialist public transport consultant The TAS Partnership Ltd has announced a further move to strengthen its management team, with the appointment of Philip Higgs as an Associate Director with effect from 1 January 2007.
Before joining TAS in 1999, Philip had over 10 years direct public transport operational experience on road and rail. Philip has latterly been a Principal Consultant leading a team with responsibility for a broad spectrum of work in the bus sector, working with most of the country's leading operators on strategy development, ticketing and marketing initiatives, and demand modelling. He has recently been responsible for the ground-breaking project examining causes of bus service unreliability, developing more practical and affordable objective delay analysis techniques, using Electronic Ticket Machine data.
TAS Managing Director Adrian Grant said "This appointment is an outcome of the strategy of internal management development that we have been pursuing. This is done primarily because we value our staff as individuals and support their own personal development plans. But it is also the most effective way in which we can ensure that TAS remains true to our ethos of delivering practical solutions based on proven 'sharp end' experience. Not everyone can make the leap from operations to consultancy. Philip has demonstrated how the two different skill sets can be married effectively, and we now want to take advantage of these skills to drive TAS' own further development."
