Community Interest Companies
16 October 2006
Community Interest Companies are a new constitutional form that has been developed as a half way house between a commercial company and a charity. This is a particularly interesting model in the context of our work developing more sustainable trading models for community transport services.
Like any new framework, there are many details to master, particularly in the relationship between a CIC and a charity.
TAS Director John Taylor recently chaired the 2006 CTA Conference Training Session on CICs, and also presented on CICs, CTs and s19 Permits.
